(More customer reviews)So, it works. I wanted to replace a old Reynolds battery powered sealer and was to cheap to buy the real thing. It pulls a good vacuum and will properly evacuate a bag. But I have found it can take a lot of messing around to get it to work. Opening and cleaning the bag zip is very common. So it takes much longer than it should to seal up a few things. I believe most of the problem is caused by the bags themself however and it does good on containers the first time. I have some Reynolds bags that work much better than their bags.

To use, simply place food in the bag and zipper it closed or in the container and secure with the lid. Pull the retractable vacuum nozzle out of the unit and place it over the green circle on the bag and press the green "power" button. For the container, attach the included adaptor onto the vacuum nozzle, place over the gray valve on the lid, and press the "power" button. In both scenarios, the vacuum will stop automatically once all the air has been removed, sealing in freshness and flavor. For added convenience, the vacuum nozzle's reservoir catches overflow liquids and cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher. Quart-size vacuum zipper bags come included, as well as a dishwasher-safe and microwave-save FoodSaver meal container (vent lid before heating). About the same size as a cookbook, the vacuum-sealing system measures approximately 2-1/2 by 6 by 7 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
